I remember my Primary School days (we are in Primary school until the age of 14/15) when we would sneak out of school during lunch break (we were not allowed to), just to buy a Snickers bar from a small bakery next door. We thought we were so badass and inconspicuous sneaking 1 minute away wearing our school slippers (yes we had them and yes we had a cool and not cool kind).
To get back on track – I am not a big fan of chocolate. It just doesn’t do it for me (Doritos and Cheetos person over here), but Snickers has always been my favourite chocolate bar. Unfortunately, I never thought of making a raw one before. Probably for the best, seeing I wasn’t really eating chocolate before and now I’m gobbling on them like crazy. But it is my new favorite – it’s refined sugar free, tastes way way better and it feels like you’re eating ice cream at the same time. One can’t really ask for more. 😉
As you may have noticed, I haven’t been around much lately. I was down with a really bad stomach virus for a good week, which resulted in me literally sleeping for a week… and yet I woke up tired. It’s the best unhealthy diet one could possibly go on, honestly.
Afterwards, we were supposed to go to Morocco, but seeing it was a stomach virus we were advised not to. Ironically, Morocco is a place I have been dying to go to for so long now and every single time something goes wrong. Unlucky. Seeing it was my birthday however (Happy Birthday to me 😀), we still had to go somewhere. I am in love with a small town called York in the UK, so that’s where Dave took me for my birthday.
We are now trying to get back on track with healthy eating, because I’m finally feeling well again. That means I won’t be sharing our trip to York with you today. I have been cooking (and freezing) a fair bit, so I wanted to share something tasty instead. It’s easy and healthy and yummy as hell. 🙂
If you are anything like me and need to “hide” vegetables in every possible form of food this will be perfect for you. On a busy schedule, but still trying to eat healthy we love to make different types of healthy dips – we usually have them with carrot sticks during break time, but if you like to ‘mask’ the taste of veggies -that you don’t really like- this does the trick. 🙂
Hey guys! What’s up? 🙂 I’ve been super busy – I’ve changed the colors of the blog myself (I am so proud of myself), though there are some things that I must add, but I have to work on that. Baby steps. I also spent some time by the sea (without any internet at all). I have to say I loved not having internet, I spend so much time on the computer at work, my eyes are slowly turning really red. 🙁
Hey there! 🙂
It’s been a busy week and it’s about to get even busier.. The reasons for that are; I have a few more exams that I have to pass (don’t judge, I have twice as many as others), I was away for a few days and I also got a new job which I absolutely love. I love learning new stuff, I love having a job that actually is me and not like other student jobs I’ve done… But it takes a lot of my time and I will be spending most of the days working. That is why I decided that I will only post once a week from now on. Except sometimes when I’ll have more time. I like Fridays so you can guess which day I chose to be the lucky day.. That’s right, Wednesdays. :.D
.. BROCCOLI? I actually know the answer to that, everybody was once forced to eat broccoli and I wasn’t. And I kinda hate having to admit this, but I really love it. I tried making everything from it – soups, lasagna, souffle… It’s getting out of hands. It looks horrible though… definitely not like something you would want to eat. I see it more as a bush or a tree. Weird. 😀 I call this the “SALAD” even if that makes absolutely no sense.. 🙂
…Who’s there? Lettuce. Lettuce who? Letucce in and we’ll tell you.
Now that’s a fine example of a bad joke, I am so glad that I can say I did not made this one up. But it is food related, so why not? 😉
Where have I been? I have been saving myself from failing. It sucks. I also decided to move out of my apartment and do something I’ve always wanted, but that’s a story for another time… For now I solemnly swear I am up to no good! Just kidding, I have plenty of good stuff to share with you and I swear I will post so much you will wish I would stop. Not posting for so much time, was also a good thing for me (MUST READ; I promise not to do it again), because some people were really angry with me. I mean REALLY angry. It’s always good to know there are people out there who read your blog.. 🙂
Heeey guys! It’s going to be a crazy week! I’m working on some new killer workouts to try out, can’t wait to see the results! I’m trying out new recipes, embracing new food and loving everything that spring has brought me! It’s my birthday soon, so I’m also making something absolutely delicious for my lovely friends. Also, my friend from Barcelona came to visit, so I won’t have that much time to write posts, but I’ll try my best to write as much as possible (I love this blog so much, I’m sure I’ll find time for it and not for everything else 🙂 ).
It’s time for exams – atleast at our University, which means it’s time to do everything else – especially because these exams, are the hardest of them all. So you know…. I go for a walk for 3 hours, cook 4 hours, try out new recipes, EAT A LOT, go out with friends, etc… I’ll just study tomorrow.. Anyway, as promised, here are a few simple recipes for healthy desserts. I’m not done yet, I have only just started with all the deliciousness. 🙂
I was trying to keep it as simple as possible, affordable, practical (so you can pack it, take it to school/uni/work) and ofcourse, healthy. 🙂
As promised, it’s time for berries. Berries are such small, awesome, nutritious fruits that you can put into pretty much anything. I use berries all the time and If that would be possible, I would use them even more. You can make so many dishes and such healthy dishes too! Lately, I’ve been starting my day with smoothies made from berries – I always put them in fancy glasses, making pretty photos, looking fabulous in pink ( 😀 ) and listening to music. It’s made mornings so much better. I love mornings so much, because that is when I take most time for myself. I start each day that way and it always puts a smile on my face. It sounds cheesy, but make every morning a beautiful morning and before you know it, every beautiful morning will make a beautiful day. 🙂
