Sometimes I really can’t wait to sit down and post an article – like when I manage to cook something really healthy and want to share the recipe, or when I visit a country that has blown me away by its beauty.
However, there are times, when I’m struggling to put my feelings into words. I have promised myself I will always be honest when posting on my blog, whether it’s about food or traveling. With traveling however, we all like different things and have different opinions and I don’t want to change your mind based on my bad/average experience. As you might have guessed by now, I didn’t particularly enjoy Amsterdam. It was fun, I guess, but by day 3 I just wanted to spend the day lying in bed and we kind of forced ourselves to go out “just cause”. It didn’t really feel like being on a holiday at all, it felt more like living in a city you really don’t like. 😀
The good thing is we later went to Barcelona, which I am completely in love with. On top of that, we also spent this morning booking a few things for our trip to Morocco coming up in 3 weeks (<3). If you have any recommendations about things that are a must, please let me know in the comments. We’ve never been to Africa before, so it should be very different and interesting.
First of all – million and one apologies. I was really looking forward to posting this article, however I was dragged to see Batman v Superman. I am not getting into an argument again, but for me, that was 3 hours of my life I am never getting back (seriously, don’t bother spending your time and money on this). After that, we basically had to do a bit of admin and pack and then we were off to Amsterdam and then later Barcelona. We (*khm* he *khm*) thought it would be a brilliant idea not to take my laptop, but take the Mac instead. Of course the idea was bestonever, seeing it was made in the stone age, doesn’t read my phone, doesn’t read my camera and has a non functioning screen (literally). 😀
It’s our last day of work and we are heading to Amsterdam and Barcelona in 2 days – super excited. B-) I will try to post as much as I can, but it all comes down to wi-fi. If I don’t get to post anything. I’m sure I’ll post something on Instagram or Facebook. You can now just click on the button on top right corner or under “social me” and it will take you there. There is also an Instagram feed on the right side of the page. 🙂
But before that it’s Ios time (and not the operating system)! 🙂
You may have noticed I have changed the blog a little bit. This week is my last week of work, 2 of my best friends from Canada and Barcelona visited last week and me and Dave are flying off to Amsterdam and Barcelona on Saturday so it has been a bit hectic. Therefore I will have to finish editing all the small little details in Slovenia, where we are going after our travels (to get a bit of vitamin D from the sun – seriously London, it’s not winter anymore). 🙂
From now on you have social buttons – they are in the top right corner, just above language settings. You can also find them under “Social Me” on the right menu. Let me know how you like it! 🙂
I am having a cup of tea while waiting for my laptop to turn on. It seems lately the sky has been covered in a thick blanket of fog. The air is cool and crisp on this very day and it takes me back to my first night in London. I take another sip of tea and it transports me to another place – I quickly realized I have underestimated the cold in England as it crept under my clothes, spreading across my skin. My teeth were gently chattering and my hands were shaking trying to hold on to the old Samsung phone that was clearly leading me to the wrong address. Not long after realizing that the battery died. I wrapped my thin coat around me tighter and looked at a printed sheet with a map on it. ‘Ok, I can do this’ I remember saying to myself. And not long after, I made it.
I remember sitting in our living room looking through the window – it was sunny. In London.
‘I should do something’ I thought to myself. I took the day off work to spoil myself and it was only 11 am. I really wanted to go for a nice walk or a hike. I remember thinking for a little bit – of all the hills surrounding my parent’s house back home – how I wish I could’ve gone there. I stared for a bit longer, but couldn’t think of a nice place I could go to – not one that is not somewhere I’d have to commute for ages first. I went back to doing something else and neglect the rare sun in London.
In December 2015, more specifically on 24th and 25th of December we decided to go on a trip to Salzburg with my brother and sister in law. We promised to ourselves that when we go to Slovenia for a longer period of time, we will also try to travel around as it is such a convenient starting point with so many options (Vienna, Budapest, Venice, Zagreb, Tuscany…). 🙂
We usually wouldn’t travel on Christmas and spend it with family, but unfortunately that was the only way all four of us could go on a trip together, seeing we all had to adjust our time off. One thing we were not aware of – Austrians take their National Holidays seriously. And when I say seriously, I mean everything is closed.
If you are anything like me and need to “hide” vegetables in every possible form of food this will be perfect for you. On a busy schedule, but still trying to eat healthy we love to make different types of healthy dips – we usually have them with carrot sticks during break time, but if you like to ‘mask’ the taste of veggies -that you don’t really like- this does the trick. 🙂
Ever since I was a little girl I have dreamed of receiving a letter when turning 11 years old. Unfortunately for me, it has turned out I was indeed a muggle.
Being a muggle, I never had the chance to look into the magical world of Harry Potter – that is, until I went to the Harry Potter studios in London. Although my wish of there being a magical world was destroyed, I was given a day of magic.
