This is probably one of my favorite quotes, it describes how I feel at the moment actually – I always feel the same when I come back from a foreign country; like I should leave, travel the world, discover its beauty and be free. Though, I can’t actually complain about my life here, because I have so many people around me that make it special. 🙂 It’s been a lovely week – we hung out a lot, went on day trips in Slovenia – every region is so special, we have such beauty here and we don’t even realize it and I also did lots of sports (my doctor finally approved it, yaaay) ! 🙂 And last, but not least…. I was cooking like crazy! 😀 So this is me writing on my blog in my apartment in Ljubljana, seconds before realizing I left the pictures of food at home – so I just decided to try out some new stuff. 😀 The first thing I’ve tried making (and I’ve never done it before so don’t judge) are raw cakes. Now this seems to be really popular in Slovenia at the moment and everybody’s going crazy about them – especially vegans. 🙂 I decided to use raspberries, because I absolutely love them (I have tons of them on my garden, but they’re not even close to ripe yet 🙁 ).
I’m back from Spain! What a lovely week it was. What does the title mean? Word for word it means “every Crazy with his theme“, meaning that every crazy has its own obsession. What is mine? Being in different city every weekend and writing my blog. Traveling the world, discovering new cultures, new culinary and sharing it with you. I also work as a tourist guide and this time I couldn’t have my computer with me (well I could, but I had no time) and I couldn’t write anything – but I will make up for it. I promise. 🙂
Happy Easter everyone! 🙂 I am grateful to spend it with my loved ones. I don’t know what it’s like in your country, but I’m sure there are a lot of people who can’t afford to have a nice “Easter feast” so be grateful for what you have on your table. May your holiday be filled with the happiness and warmth of love from all that are near and dear to you. 🙂
Vesele velikonočne praznike!
Heeey guys! It’s going to be a crazy week! I’m working on some new killer workouts to try out, can’t wait to see the results! I’m trying out new recipes, embracing new food and loving everything that spring has brought me! It’s my birthday soon, so I’m also making something absolutely delicious for my lovely friends. Also, my friend from Barcelona came to visit, so I won’t have that much time to write posts, but I’ll try my best to write as much as possible (I love this blog so much, I’m sure I’ll find time for it and not for everything else 🙂 ).
It’s time for exams – atleast at our University, which means it’s time to do everything else – especially because these exams, are the hardest of them all. So you know…. I go for a walk for 3 hours, cook 4 hours, try out new recipes, EAT A LOT, go out with friends, etc… I’ll just study tomorrow.. Anyway, as promised, here are a few simple recipes for healthy desserts. I’m not done yet, I have only just started with all the deliciousness. 🙂
I was trying to keep it as simple as possible, affordable, practical (so you can pack it, take it to school/uni/work) and ofcourse, healthy. 🙂
Recently, people started looking at me as their “personal chef“… After I got out of the hospital, I started working on new things for the blog and there were some complaints that I don’t “bake as much as I used to” and I don’t “make desserts anymore“. Because I can’t live solely on desserts (actually I probably could :D), I am making 1 for each day, so I am working on an entry that is going to be all about healthy desserts. I am only going to post the ones that taste awesome though, so that might take a while. 🙂
I’m being taken care of at the hospital, so I think the title fits the occasion (also I can’t cook and make them pretty pictures). The good news is – I feel on top of the world and am as fit as a fiddle. The results couldn’t be better, though it scared the shit (<- I’m not even going to make it pretty) out of me. 🙂
As promised, it’s time for berries. Berries are such small, awesome, nutritious fruits that you can put into pretty much anything. I use berries all the time and If that would be possible, I would use them even more. You can make so many dishes and such healthy dishes too! Lately, I’ve been starting my day with smoothies made from berries – I always put them in fancy glasses, making pretty photos, looking fabulous in pink ( 😀 ) and listening to music. It’s made mornings so much better. I love mornings so much, because that is when I take most time for myself. I start each day that way and it always puts a smile on my face. It sounds cheesy, but make every morning a beautiful morning and before you know it, every beautiful morning will make a beautiful day. 🙂
»Oh sh*t« was the first thing that went through my mind when my mentor said I have to start eating vegetables. In 20 years of my life, I’ve tried (probably) every vegetable there is, thanks to my mother’s and father’s field full of… well, pretty much everything. And every vegetable I’ve tried, I absolutely hated.
He suggested I start with spinach – why spinach? First of all, spinach offers twice as much fiber as other greens. It has always been regarded as a plant with remarkable abilities to restore energy, improve the quality of the blood and increase vitality. It is an excellent source of vitamin K, vitamin A, vitamin C, folic acid, manganese, magnesium, iron and vitamin B2.
If Popeye the sailor man could do it, then so can I! 🙂
